Executive Functioning Coaching for Teens
Our Approach
Executive functioning skills are the building blocks that help children and teens manage daily life, from starting homework and staying organized to following through on responsibilities.
Drawing from evidence-based coaching programs and informed by neuropsychology, we provide concrete, actionable strategies that meet your child where they are developmentally. Whether your child has ADHD, learning differences, anxiety, or simply struggles with organization and follow-through, executive functioning coaching can help them build confidence, independence, and momentum.
Coaching sessions are collaborative, encouraging, and highly structured, helping kids feel supported rather than overwhelmed. We work closely with parents when appropriate, offering guidance on how to reinforce skills at home and align expectations with your child’s developmental capacity.
Coaching can be especially helpful for:
ADHD and Executive Functioning Challenges
Build better systems for attention, organization, and impulse control
Anxiety and Mood Disorders
Strengthen cognitive flexibility, problem-solving, and emotional regulation
Academic & School-Related Stress
Help kids manage homework, long-term projects, test preparation, and classroom demands more effectively.
Why Work With Us?
With a strong foundation in neuropsychology, our clinicians understand how brain development impacts attention, motivation, and self-regulation. This allows us to tailor strategies that are realistic, effective, and aligned with how children actually learn.
Executive functioning challenges are not a character flaw or a lack of effort, they’re skills that can be taught. Together, we break big challenges into small, manageable steps and help kids build habits that support success at school and at home.
In our work together, we’ll:
Create realistic goals and goal-pacing
Build organization, prioritization, and follow-through skills
Learn how to break tasks into smaller, actionable steps
Create sustainable routines that improve focus and reduce stress
Hone skills that will aid in increasing attention and motivation
Each session is structured to provide guidance, accountability, and tools your child can use right away, helping them feel more capable and in control.
Executive Functioning Coaching might be helpful if:
1 | Your child has ADHD or struggle with focus, organization, or follow-through
2 | School demands feel overwhelming and responsibilities feel like constant battles
3 | You’re looking for tools that help your child build independence and confidence
THE PROCESS
1 | Complimentary Call
We begin with a 15-minute call with a parent or caregiver to understand your concerns, answer questions, and determine if executive functioning coaching is the right fit for your child.
2 | Intake Session
If the fit is right, we’ll schedule a one-hour intake session to get a full picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, school demands, and family routines. This may include parent input, child participation, or both, depending on age and needs.
3 | Coaching Plan & Goal Setting
Together, we create a clear coaching plan with specific, measurable goals that make sense for your child’s developmental stage and daily life.
4 | Weekly Sessions
Executive functioning coaching is typically short-term and skills-focused. Most children and teens benefit from 6–8 sessions, though some may choose additional support depending on goals and progress.
