ABOUT CRISTIN
Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I spent years working as a bedside nurse. It was there that I discovered how deeply I value listening to people’s stories and holding space during moments of vulnerability, uncertainty, and pain. I learned how to stay present when there are no easy answers and how to hold both joy and grief at the same time. I witnessed the powerful ways medication can support physical healing—but I also saw the profound deficit created when mental health support is missing from the model of care. This is what ultimately led me to pursue my work as a psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
I offer psychotherapy, medication management, and combined treatment. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I’ve learned how deeply accurate diagnosis and thoughtful psychiatric medication can matter. When used intentionally and in collaboration with the individual, the use of psychiatric medication can be a powerful and life changing tool. I see that tool as one part of a greater plan that honors the whole person.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and flexible, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic perspectives.
I work with adolescents, adults, and older adults living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, OCD, panic disorder, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, PMS/PMDD, and perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I have expertise in ADHD coaching and practical skill-building, parenting support, family conflict, life transitions, and body neutrality work.
I am additionally certified in reproductive mental health helping teens and adults with PMS/PMDD symptoms, perinatal and postpartum preparation and care, and infertility support.
Regardless of a person’s symptoms, I believe that healing is possible when someone feels safe, seen, and understood. I consider it a great privilege and gift to support each individual in their own unique journey and goals.
